  • Can I make changes to an existing cover design?
At Covéire we want you to feel amazing wearing one of our covers, so if there's a change you would like, please get in contact with us before purchasing and we can discuss if the changes are possible.
  • How durable are your covers?
PLA is a strong and stiff material. We have designed our covers to withstand everyday knocks and bumps. Our covers are designed to be worn during everyday activities, such as walking, shopping, going out on the town or even grabbing a coffee. The durability of the finish of the cover is entirely depending with its use. We use high grade automotive paint, which should insure a strong durable finish, but like most things in life wear and tear is unavoidable *We do stress though that our covers are not intended to protect your prosthetic. They are purely a fashion accessory. ** As PLA is a thermoplastic, we suggest that your cover is not left or stored near any heat source, as warping may occur. *** Please avoid kneeling down with your cover on, as damage may occur. **** Be aware that our covers can warp if exposed to an excessive source of moisture
  • How heavy are your covers?
Since each cover is manufactured specifically for your dimensions the weight will differ from cover to cover. As an example, our 'Swell' cover that is 370mm tall weighs approximately 300grams, straps included.
  • What are your covers made from?
Our covers are made from high quality PLA (Polylactic acid). PLA is obtained from renewable and natural materials, such as corn. Which makes it more biodegradable than other forms of plastic, making it more environmentally friendly. We then finish each cover in our workshop using high grade automotive paint.
  • How do your covers attach to my prosthetic?
All our covers come with x2 Fixplus straps. These straps are made from an incredibly strong Polyurethane material and a strong aerospace aluminium buckle. These straps are slightly elastic and flexible, while being heat and cold resistant (-30/+60c), water resistant and UV resistant. They guarantee a stable hold even with strong vibrations and impacts, even after frequent use. These straps loop through the inside of our covers, making them not visible from the front. The straps then securely fasten around your prosthetic and stop it from turning or moving. * The straps are placed at either end of the cover, depending on what components you use.
  • How do I choose the correct size for below knee?
At Covéire, we need you to provide as much information about your prosthetic as possible to ensure that your cover fits perfectly. Along with the image you will provide us, we will also look for some dimensions of your prosthetic. For below knee prosthetics we will need you to measure from the top of you foot (where your foot meets the pylon pole) to where you want the front (or tallest part) of the cover to end on your socket. We will the need the circumference of your socket where you intend on the cover ending. We suggest using a tailors measuring tape, as it will give the most accurate dimensions. * We ask that you provide all measurements in mm
  • Why do you need a picture of my prosthetic?
We need an image of your prosthetic so we can design a cover that best suits your needs. We need to consider each component that is used in your prosthesis to ensure that you get the best fit possible.
  • How do I choose the correct size for above knee?
At Covéire, we need you to provide as much information about your prosthetic as possible to ensure that your cover fits perfectly. Along with the image you will provide us, we will also look for some dimensions of your prosthetic. For above knee prosthetics we will ask you to measure from the top of your foot (where your foot meets the pylon pole) to just above the top of your knee joint. As above knee covers do not cover your socket, we will ask you to provide a measurement of the circumference of the calf area on the cover. This can be taken from your other leg, or in the case of a bilateral amputation, we ask you to provide a measurement which you think will best fit your frame. * We ask that you provide all measurements in mm

  • How to look after your cover.
We advise that you take care of your cover to ensure a longer cover lifespan. We highly recommend avoiding impact with everyday objects, such as chairs, doors, tables etc. Avoid sharp, metallic or hard objects as they can greatly increase the risk of material breakage, damage, paint damage, and paint scratches. Damages caused by these situations are not covered in our warranty. If your cover becomes dirty, we suggest that you wipe it down with a damp soapy cloth and then dry immediately with a dry cloth. Please note that we recommend you do not submerge your cover in water, or expose to heat as this will cause your cover to warp.
  • Does my cover come with a warranty?
Covéire offers a 3 month warranty for defective or broken covers from date of shipment. This warranty does not include damage to the paint, breakage due to impact, damage due to heat or damage that may occur from the improper usage, manipulation of our covers, or excessive exposure to moisture. Please note that our covers are not intended to be used in high impact activities or sports. Covéire can not be held responsible if the measurements provided for a cover are not accurate.
